The Cheap Fashionista

Hi everyone! Welcome to The Cheap Fashionista! Why is it that I consider myself a cheap fashionista?
It all started on the island of Manhattan. I grew up in and out of the factories in Soho and Chinatown before they became Soho. I remember it used to cost a manufacturer twenty five cents to make a silk scarf by a well known designer and it was marked up to $45.00. That was back in the eighties. After seeing that, who could ever pay full retail price?
I love fashion. Retail is in my blood. I believe if you could get the same handbag for $300.00 less at Loehmann's, why pay full price at another store?
I just purchased a Betsey Johnson, grey satchel with black grommets and snakeskin accents, at Loehmann's for less than $125.00. I also purchased several Anne Klein and Calvin Klein dresses that retail at $225 and over for less than $40.00 a piece.
My secret, I am not ashamed to wear last season's outfit. If it's a classic style, you're still going to get a excellent wear out of it. If you stick to neutral colors, you will never go wrong. Punch up the outfit with a fly Betsey Johnson bag and no one will tell the difference.
Happy shopping!
